Terms of Service

Last updated: August 15, 2026

1. What WorkHive is

WorkHive is a marketplace that connects employers with independent freelancers and virtual assistants. WorkHive is not a party to any work agreement between users: employers and freelancers contract directly with each other. Freelancers are independent contractors, not employees of WorkHive or, unless separately agreed, of the employers they work with.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. One person per account; you may not impersonate others or misrepresent your identity, skills, or business.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: post false or misleading jobs or profiles; harass, spam, or defraud other users; attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours; interfere with the operation or security of the service; or use the platform for anything unlawful. We may remove content, decline service, or suspend accounts that violate these rules or harm the marketplace.

4. Payments, milestone funding, and fees

On-platform payments use funded milestones with delayed release: the employer pays a milestone amount up front, WorkHive holds the funds, and they are released to the freelancer when the employer approves the work (or when a WorkHive administrator resolves a dispute by releasing or refunding). This is a payment-scheduling arrangement, not a licensed escrow service. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card and bank details are handled by Stripe, not stored by WorkHive. A platform service fee is retained from released milestones. Where on-platform payouts are unavailable in a freelancer's country, users may agree on and record payments made through other channels; those payments occur outside the platform, are the responsibility of the paying and receiving parties, and are recorded for informational purposes only.

5. Reviews

Reviews may only be left after an on-platform hire and must reflect a genuine experience. Fake, incentivized, or retaliatory reviews may be removed and the accounts involved suspended.

6. Content

You retain ownership of content you post (profiles, job posts, messages) and grant WorkHive a license to display it as needed to operate the service. Do not post content you don't have the right to share.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". WorkHive does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any engagement between users, and does not conduct background checks beyond any verification badges described in the product. To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkHive's liability arising out of your use of the service is limited to the fees you paid to WorkHive in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) survive.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced on the platform; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
